Copenhagen International School (CIS) is seeking a passionate, student-centred, and internationally minded educator to join our Primary School team as a Grade 5 PYP Homeroom Teacher.

As a Grade 5 PYP Homeroom Teacher, you will play an important role in supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally during a key stage of their Primary School journey. You will work closely with an experienced team of educators to create engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, agency, reflection, and international-mindedness.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-established IB Primary Years Programme while working alongside colleagues from around the world in a diverse and supportive school community.

Working collaboratively with grade-level colleagues, specialist teachers, learning support staff, and school leadership, you will help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.
You will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme.
- Foster student agency, wellbeing, and belonging.
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Use inquiry-based and student-centred teaching approaches.
- Assess, monitor, and communicate student learning and progress.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the Primary School community.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency for students.
We Are Looking For a Teacher Who
- Holds a recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching in a primary school setting.
- Has experience as a homeroom or classroom teacher.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of child development and effective classroom practice.
- Creates engaging, inclusive, and differentiated learning experiences.
- Builds strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrates intercultural competence and a collaborative mindset.
- Is a reflective practitioner committed to continuous learning and growth.
- Thrives in diverse and international learning environments.
Experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or other inquiry-based primary programmes is an advantage.
