Copenhagen International School (CIS) is seeking passionate, student-centred, and internationally minded language educators to join our Secondary School team.
We are currently recruiting within our Language Acquisition programme and welcome applications from teachers with experience in:
- English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Danish Language Acquisition / Danish as an Additional Language
- Both EAL and Danish Language Acquisition
About the Opportunity Language plays a critical role in student success at CIS.
We are seeking educators who can support multilingual learners in developing the confidence, communication skills, and academic language needed to fully participate in learning across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
Depending on candidate profiles and school needs, CIS may appoint a teacher able to contribute across both EAL and Danish Language Acquisition, or separate teachers within each area.
The current teaching allocation is approximately 40% EAL and 60% Danish Language Acquisition.
Candidates with experience across both areas are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications from candidates specialising in only one area are also welcome.
This is a fixed-term position from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2027.
About the Role Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Secondary School, the Learning Support Team, Counsellors, and school leadership, you will help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while fostering a learning environment where multilingualism is recognised as a strength and diversity is valued.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive, and student-centred language instruction.
- Support multilingual learners in reaching their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen language development across the curriculum.
- Foster student agency, wellbeing, and belonging.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.
