Copenhagen International School (CIS) is looking for a Music Teacher to join our Secondary School, teaching across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), starting 1 August 2026.

This role combines classroom teaching with active contribution to the wider life of the school, including advisory, performances, and after-school activities.

As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in developing students’ creativity, confidence, and critical thinking through music.

You will teach across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), supporting students’ academic and artistic development in an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Your work will extend beyond the classroom through performances, ensembles, and advisory, contributing to a strong sense of community and student belonging.

What is the job about?

You will:

  • Teach Music across MYP and DP, including preparation for IB assessments
  • Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered learning experiences
  • Support students as an advisor
  • Lead and contribute to musical ensembles, performances, and concerts
  • Contribute to after-school activities (ASA)
  • Collaborate with colleagues across subject teams and programmes

What do we expect from you?

  • Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Music at upper secondary level or equivalent
  • Ability to teach both practical and theoretical aspects of music
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school (ASA, performances, advisory)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Experience with IB programmes (MYP and/or DP) is an advantage.

Candidates without IB experience but with strong relevant teaching experience and willingness to undertake IB training are encouraged to apply.

The salary range for this position is 40,000 to 61,000 DKK per month (including pension), depending on qualifications and experience.
